Day 1: Monday 1 April 2019 
Toowoomba to Moree 

Depart at 7:00am from Stonestreets Depot, 78 Warwick Street, Toowoomba. Travel south-bound this morning traversing the New England Highway into the fruit and wine region of the Granite Belt. Enjoy a tour and tasting at Ballandean Winery, the oldest vineyard in the district. A little further south lies the Celtic town of Glen Innes and to the west, Inverell where the tour stops for lunch. Later, tour through the National Transport Museum which house an incredible 120 vehicles spanning 100 years of transport in Australia plus a collection of Dolls, Wedding Dresses and Cake Icing!! Arrive in Moree as the sun descends toward the horizon with time to check into your accommodation before dinner. Meals LD

Day 2: Tuesday 2 April 2019
Moree to Lightning Ridge

Depart Moree and follow the Barwon Hwy further west, through the vast cotton growing region surrounding Moree. Near the junction of the Barwon and Namoi rivers is the tiny township of Walgett, significant enough to be mentioned in two of Banjo Paterson’s poems. Dine at the Walgett Sporting Club then continue on to Lightning Ridge. Lightning Ridge is known to be the only place in Australia, and one of the few places in the world, where the highly prized black opal is found. This will be ‘home’ for the next two nights. Meals BLD

Day 3: Wednesday 3 April 2019
Lightning Ridge Sightseeing

Today a local guide will join the tour to show you Lightning Ridge. Initially the settlement was known as Nettleton's Hill after the discovery of opals in the district in 1902 by Charles Nettleton. Your guide will explain how the town got its new name Lightning Ridge. A day of touring will showcase the local highlights of Amigo’s Castle, the Astronomers Monument, a Bottle House and a number of opal fields. Also explore Glengarry, Grawin and Sheepyards. Meals BLD

Day 4: Thursday 4 April
Lightning Ridge to Roma

Soon after departing Lightning Ridge, cross the border back into Queensland near the tiny village of Hebel. Note the historic Hebel pub and artwork on its roof. Later, arrive at the famous Nindigully Pub, known for its massive and tasty pub meals and quirky country hospitality. Try some of their famous tucker before continuing north to St George. Pause for a while at an egg-cellent local gallery; the Unique Egg which has a range of ornately carved emu eggs on display. Later, arrive in Roma to check-in at the motel. After dinner the Explorer’s Inn take in a fascinating Sound and Light show at The Big Rig. Meals BLD


Day 5: Friday 5 April 2019
Roma to Toowoomba    

After a hearty breakfast, a guide will join you for a sightseeing tour of Roma including a look at the beautiful stained-glass windows in St Paul's Church. Later, head East and pass through the old railway settlement towns of Wallumbilla, Yuleba and Jackson stopping for lunch at the historic Dulacca Hotel. Cross the Dogwood Creek at Miles before pausing at the Visitors Centre in Chinchilla. This region is well known for melon growing and vast deposits of petrified wood – a beautiful example of petrified wood sits on display outside the Visitors Centre. Follow the path of the Brisbane – Charleville Railway Line, passing through Brigalow and Warra then the major agricultural town of Dalby before arriving back in Toowoomba approximately 5:30pm.
