Day 1: Tuesday 23 June 2020
HOME - BATHURST

Disembark on your 11 Day adventure to Griffith and Mildura featuring the magnificent Mungo National Park. Travellers who have booked a tour and flights package will fly from either Toowoomba or Brisbane to Sydney to meet travellers who have arranged their own flights. At Sydney Airport, meet your driver and board your luxury 4WD touring coach. Then, sit back and relax as you head west through Katoomba into the Blue Mountains. At Echo Point, witness dramatic views over the iconic Three Sisters and into the valley of the stunning Blue Mountains. Enjoy afternoon tea before arriving in Bathurst, where your hotel is located on the Mt Panorama Race Track. Before you check in, go for a “spin”. Meals: D

Day 2: Wednesday 24 June 2020
BATHURST

Be introduced to the town of Bathurst by a local guide who will unlock the past and present of one of Australia’s oldest inland cities. The Victorian era streetscape is relatively intact and there are many impressive buildings. Visit Chifley House; the home of the great Australian Prime Minister, Ben Chifley and his wife Elizabeth during their marriage. The house contains its original collection of household furnishings and personal effects dating back to when the Chifley’s first occupied the house in 1914. Next, make your way to the stunning castle-like mansion, Abercrombie House. With its mixture of Gothic and Scottish baronial styles, it has been acknowledged as one of the finest historical mansions in Australia. Enjoy lunch, a tour and time to wander the grounds. Your final appointment for the day is the Australian Fossil and Mineral Museum which will be truly fascinating. Here, one man’s passion becomes Bathurst’s greatest treasure! Wander the extraordinary collection of Professor Warren Somerville, including a full Tyrannosaurus Rex skeleton!  Meals: BLD

Day 3: Thursday 25 June 2020
BATHURST - GRIFFITH

This morning, travel to Cowra, the town made famous by a World War 2 POW Camp and the story of the infamous “Cowra Breakout”. Here visit the information centre to watch the incredible hologram presentation and learn about this fascinating story. Enjoy lunch at the Japanese Garden Cafe before continuing to Griffith, home for two nights.  Meals:  BLD

Day 4: Friday 26 June 2020
GRIFFITH

At the Visitors Centre, wander through the interpretive display which describes the intriguing story of Griffith from the development of the irrigation scheme through to the regions produce. Here, meet your local guide for a coach tour of the town. Nearby is the McWilliams Hanwood Estate where you’ll have a delightful wine tasting. Have lunch and take a stroll in the wonderful local garden before a visit to Catania Fruit Salad Farm. This family owned business produces a variety of fruits and nuts which you can sample on the tour. During your visit, learn about the life and times of the pioneers, see how the irrigation system delivers water to the farms and how local crops are grown and harvested. Meals: BLD

Day 5: Saturday 27 June 2020
GRIFFITH – MUNGO NATIONAL PARK

Today is a travel day as you head to Mungo National Park. Pack a book, take a nap or enjoy the ample scenery out the window as you travel through the vast Hay Pains. At the lunch stop, stretch your legs and go in search of some lunch before arriving in the amazing Mungo National Park. Meals: BD

Day 6: Sunday 28 June 2020
MUNGO NATIONAL PARK

Today, uncover the starkly beautiful landscape of the ancient dry lake basins, sand formations and towering dunes of Mungo National Park. This area is rich with aboriginal history and significant archaeological discoveries. Take a giant leap back in time and enjoy the day exploring this remarkable location with a local expert. Walk the Walls of China, explore the historic woolshed and be amazed at the landscape from a lookout. Meals: BLD

Day 7: Monday 29 June 2020
MUNGO - MILDURA

Farewell the amazing hosts at Mungo National Park and journey to Mildura. Visit the Australian Inland Botanic Garden where plants from a variety of environments thrive in the regions warm, dry climate and well-drained soils. Enjoy lunch before strolling through the large rose garden and a rock garden that are featured here. Check-in with some time to freshen up before dinner. Meals: BLD

Day 8: Tuesday 30 June 2020
MILDURA

Discover Mildura with a local based expert for a morning of sightseeing. At lunchtime, cruise along the river aboard the PS Melbourne. The cruise offers a relaxing pace through Lock 11 on the majestic steam driven paddle steamer. Commentary is provided, giving an educational insight on the Murray Darling River system and its environs and also the history of paddleboats. Back on dry land, head to a lovely oil farm, Varapodio Estate and enjoy a tour and tastings of their award-winning oils. Your final visit for the day is Orange World – a working 50-acre citrus property. Take an enjoyable tour around the picturesque property of avocado trees, numerous citrus varieties and tree grafting areas. There is an opportunity to travel on the tractor train with undercover seating while you gain a wealth of citrus information with a juicy sense of humour.  Meals: BLD

Day 9: Wednesday 1 July 2020
MILDURA - BARMERA

Today begins at Australia’s largest gemstone cutting and jewellery manufactory complex, Woodsie Gem Shop and Aladdin’s Cave which has thousands of jewellery items beautifully displayed. From here, travel to the South Australian border to the tiny village of Paringa. Here, stop at Lock 5 before crossing the Paringa Suspension Bridge to Renmark. Visit the PS Industry which is moored here. Commissioned in 1911, the Industry once worked for South Australian Water, keeping the Murray River open to traffic. Following a hectic work life, the steamer was retired in 1969. There is a delightful short river bank walk to the Renmark Club. Enjoy lunch. here before you continue onto Barmera on the beautiful Lake Bonney.  Meals: BLD

Day 10: Thursday 2 July 2020
BARMERA - ADELAIDE

Make your way to the award-winning Banrock Station where the Wine and Wetland Centre gives panoramic views over the vineyards and wetlands; the perfect place to enjoy morning tea. Continue to the beautiful city of Adelaide where you can wander and find some lunch at Adelaide Central Markets. The Markets have been a thriving hub of food and culture since 1869. Stroll the various produce stalls, enjoy the multicultural cuisine and discover Adelaide’s most popular cafes. This afternoon explore with a local guide. Visit Monteflore Hill the spot from where Colonel Light planned a great city of the future in the sweeping valley below. Nearby is one of Adelaide’s most prominent landmarks; St Peters Cathedral, which overlooks the city from North Adelaide and the recently redeveloped Adelaide Oval. Discover the inner workings of the iconic oval with a behind the scenes tour. The oval offers a unique blend of new and old, from the latest in stadium design to the heritage-listed scoreboard and the century-old Moreton Bay Fig trees. Meals: BD
