On the drive from Dysart, pass by massive open cut coal mines while traveling north toward Moranbah and then east to Nebo Junction. From here travel through the Pioneer Valley and on to Eungella for the next 2 nights. Meals: BLD Accommodation: Eungella Chalet (2 nights)

Day 4: Sunday 9 June 2019 - Eungella National Park & Broken River
Perched high on the Clarke Range - Eungella Township is the hub for one of Queensland’s most extensive protected areas encompassing Eungella National Park and Crediton State Forest. Eungella has a rich cultural history of gold mining, timber, dairying and tourism. The National Park showcases a huge expanse of magnificent subtropical rainforest spanning rugged gorges and escarpments. Today we’ll start at Peases Lookout and later the Sky Window, both of which offer spectacular views of the Pioneer Valley. From there we head to beautiful Broken River, this part of Australia is recognised as the world’s most reliable location for observing platypus in the wild. Spend time at the various viewing platforms and enjoy lunch at the Platypus Café and then continue exploring the National Park and Eungella Dam before returning to the historic Eungella Chalets. Day 6: Tuesday 11 June 2019 - Magnetic Island
Just meters short of a mountain, Castle Hill is the giant pink granite monolith that stands proud in the centre of Townsville and is the perfect place for us to orientate ourselves with Townsville from the 360-degree pinnacle. See the magnificent Strand foreshore redevelopment on our way to join Sea Link for our cruise to Magnetic Island. We arrive at Nelly Bay on Magnetic Island to join the islands best bus tour. On this 5-hour tour of the island we get to enjoy the friendly expert commentary on native birds and animals, history, geology and folklore of the island. There’s plenty of points of interest along the way and time for a relaxing lunch at Horseshoe Bay. Later rejoin the ferry back to Townsville and enjoy a little retail therapy before returning to our accommodation. Meals: BD

Day 7: Wednesday 12 June 2019 - Townsville – Mission Beach
Depart Townsville and travel along the Bruce Highway north through Ingham to Cardwell. Visit the Rainforest and Reef Information Centre which provides interpretative information about Cardwell, Hinchinbrook Island and Channel and environs. From Cardwell it’s just an hour to beautiful Mission Beach and we commence with a delightful 3-hour three Island Cruise, a fantastic way to see the beautiful islands in the comfort of the fully enclosed custom-made Water Taxi vessel. With a history rich in very colourful characters and remarkable events, the Family Group of Islands is not only breathtakingly beautiful but incredibly interesting. See Timana, Kumboola and Bedarra Island whilst being treated to a commentary from “Fozzy” with a mixture of interesting facts and local history combined with a little bit of folk lore and fiction (perfectly served with a smidgeon of dry humour). Return to Mission Beach mid-afternoon and check in to our beachfront accommodation at beautiful Castaways Beach Resort. Meals: BLD
Accommodation: Castaways Mission Beach Resort (2 nights)

Day 8: Thursday 13 June 2019 - Chocolates, Rainforest and Castles
Spend some time this morning exploring the beach or just relax at the resort. Mid-morning head across to Charley’s Chocolate Factory – if you love chocolate this is definitely the tour for you! Charley’s Chocolate Tour is unique in Australia and one of only a few places in the world where you can experience the whole journey of chocolate from “Cocoa Tree to Chocolate Bar”. Charley’s people are passionate about what they do and want you to share the fascinating chocolate story. After lunch we depart and make our way north to one of Tropical North Queensland’s newest attractions, the Mamu Tropical Sky Walk. Take a walk in the clouds on elevated walkways, a cantilever, and observation tower which offer visitors the exhilarating experience of being high in the rainforest canopy, along with providing spectacular panoramic views of World Heritage rainforest landscapes. Next, visit Paronella Park where “The Dream Continues”. Join our guide to hear how José Paronella’s dream was to build a castle. He chose a special part of Australia and created Paronella Park. On 5 Hectares beside Mena Creek Falls he built his castle, picnic area by the falls, tennis courts, bridges, a tunnel, and wrapped it up in an amazing range of 7,500 tropical plants and trees. Dinner tonight will be at nearby Mena Creek Hotel, then return to Paronella Park for the Darkness Falls Tour. See the park come to life with the use of flood lighting on many of the Park's highlights (courtesy of the restored hydro electric generator!). This allows for some incredible photo opportunities. Meals:BLD

Day 9: Friday 14 June 2019 - Mission Beach to Cairns
Sadly, we must leave our Tropical Paradise and continue north to Tropical Cairns. Depart Mission Beach and make our way to beautiful Josephine Falls. The falls are a result of rains falling on Queensland’s highest peak, Mount Bartle Frere, which looms above this popular picnic area. Time here to wander along the walking track through lush tropical rainforest to viewing decks overlooking Josephine Creek and Falls. From here, enjoy excellent views and opportunities for great photographs. From Josephine Falls it’s on to Cairns. Upon arrival you will be dropped off close to the Cairns Marina and City Centre, where you’ll have a few hours to explore the marina or city and enjoy some lunch. This afternoon re-board the coach for a sightseeing tour of Cairns, see Trinity Wharf and Inlet, the Cairns Casino, Cairns Botanical Gardens and the Cairns foreshore development.
