Day 1: Sunday 20 October 2019
Toowoomba-Brisbane-Lord Howe Island
Welcome to your Lord Howe Island Holiday Tour! For those living within the Toowoomba City boundary a complimentary home pick up is included this morning. Transfer via Stonestreets Coach to Brisbane Domestic Airport where your tour escort will assist you with your check-in. Depart Brisbane with QantasLink to Lord Howe Island; enjoy some refreshments along the way before your arrival in Paradise! On arrival, a representative of Leanda Lei Apartments will greet you at the airport and transfer you to your central accommodation, only a short walk from the island’s main attractions and shopping district. Time to settle into your King Studio Apartment, before heading to Beachcomber Lodge for dinner. Meals: D

Day 2: Monday 21 October 2019
Island Bus Tour & Around Island Cruise
Two great tours await you today! Firstly, you will join the all corners island tour. A great introduction on what, where and how to do Lord Howe! What are the best walks? Where do you get the best photos? The tour includes visits to the local school, Government House, the hospital and the Catalina monument. Peter, your driver/guide will point out many of the island’s ever-changing sea and land birds. Learn all about the social history of the island, early settlement, predators and pests, flora and fauna, ships, flying boats and the airstrip, island tales and even buried treasure! Later return to your accommodation where you can take the short stroll into town for lunch, then this afternoon, cruise around the island. A 2hr cruise enables passengers to relax and enjoy the breath-taking views all around Lord Howe Island including the spectacular image of Balls Pyramid creeping up in the distance, and sheer mountain cliffs. During part of the 2-hour cruise, you will approach the 'Admiralty Islands' which are home to a large percentage of the Island's bird population. Later, join Ian Hutton, a Lord Howe Local and naturalist who describes living on Lord Howe Island like living inside a David Attenborough documentary. Ian will share his experiences on the island dating back to when he arrived in 1980 as a weather observer through to today and all the way in between, when he became so absorbed in the Island’s environment that he left his secure government job and started “Lord Howe Island Nature Tours. Dinner will be at Beach House on the Moon Restaurant. Meals: BD

Day 3: Tuesday 22 October 2019
North Bay Turtle & Nature Tour
This morning after breakfast enjoy a little free time before a North Bay Turtle and Nature Tour. View the large variety fish, turtles, stingrays and amazing corals of the world's southernmost barrier reef on a glass bottom boat, 'Adventure One'. While exploring North Bay you can climb up Mt. Eliza, walk to the Old Gulch or Herring Pools, view the sea bird rookery (seasonal), swim or just sit and laze the morning away. Amazing snorkel opportunity is provided through an optional snorkel to the wreck of the 'Favourite' which ran aground here in 1965. Enjoy an afternoon at leisure before dinner at the Bowls Club. Day 4: Wednesday 23 October 2019
Coral viewing with Environmental Tours
This two-hour tour focuses on exploring the profuse coral seascape, and introduces visitors to some of the more unusual lagoon inhabitants such as the endemic double-header wrasse, stingrays and turtles. This tour provides an optional snorkeling experience at Erscott's Hole or you can just relax on the boat and view the stunning diversity of this exotic marine location. Next join Ron on an easy 3km 3-hour ramble and enjoy great scenery & information about this fascinating island. Learn about the birds, flora, fossils, palm and tourist industry, bush tucker & medicine plus snippets of volcanic and colourful local history & more. Late this afternoon, enjoy Historical Movies at the local hall, a showing of 3 short historical movies from the flying boat days before dinner at the Anchorage Restaurant. Meals: BD

Day 5: Thursday 24 October 2019
Free Day – Optional tours
Today has been left free to explore your own personal interests or to relax in your apartment. You may wish to join one of the locally operated tours, and one of the most popular is to Balls Pyramid. Located 23 kilometres southeast of the island is the world’s tallest sea stack – the 551-metre-tall Ball’s Pyramid. There’s also fishing adventures, scenic walks, golf, lawn bowls. Dinner tonight will be at the Lord Howe Island Golf Club. Meals: BD

Day 6: Friday 25 October 2019
Walk to Little Island & Fish Feeding
Today after breakfast, walk the Little Island Track to view the spectacular aerial courtship displays by the winter breeding Providence Petrel. One of the world’s rarest birds, the Providence Petrel returns to the island to nest and can be ‘called’ out of the air, landing at your feet and even climbing into your lap! Lunch today will be at the Golf Club, then this afternoon head to Ned’s beach and feed the Fish. Enjoy some time either snorkeling or feeding fish that are right around your ankles! A small amount of fish food will be supplied with additional fish food available for purchase. Tonight, is your last night on Lord Howe Island so enjoy a farewell dinner at the Coral Café. Day 7: Saturday 26 October 2019
Lord Howe Island – Brisbane - Toowoomba
Sadly farewell your Island paradise and after breakfast checking out of Leanda Lei Apartments and transferring to Lord Howe Island Airport. You'll be welcomed back onboard your QantasLink flight to Brisbane where on arrival your familiar Stonestreets coach will be waiting to transfer you back to Toowoomba and home. Meals: B

Leanda Lei Apartments

Modern studio apartments ideally located on Middle Beach Road set amid tranquil gardens and spacious lawns with views towards Mount Gower and Lidgbird, close to Lagoon Beach, the museum, visitor's centre and within walking distance to all main attractions Lord Howe Island has to offer.  Leanda Lei was established in 1954 by Roy and Daphne Wilson as the first purpose-built guest house on Lord Howe Island and was a “honeymooner's haven”. In 1974 the accommodation was converted to self-contained apartments, allowing for more freedom of choice regarding styles of accommodation.  All apartments have recently been renovated and refurbished and still remain within the same family today.  Your King Studio Apartment has a private balcony backing onto the palm forest. These superior sized units include king or twin beds, a kitchen and ensuite bathroom.
