Day 1 Australia – Hanoi, Vietnam
Today depart from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide or Perth for your flight to Hanoi, Vietnam. On arrival be picked up by a tour representative and transferred to the hotel. Please note: due to flight scheduling and availability, some departures may occur on day 0. Affected customers must be at the airport the night before. Flight times will be indicated on your final documents at least 4 weeks prior to departure. Overnight: Flower Garden Hotel, Hanoi Meals included: In-Flight

Day 2 Hanoi - Halong Bay Cruise
This morning after breakfast drive through beautiful green rice paddy fields on the way to the coast (approx. 4 hours) where you will board a Junk boat for an overnight cruise through the thousands of towering limestone islands and emerald waters of Halong Bay. Enjoy a seafood lunch before taking part in some afternoon activities such as swimming, relaxing on a remote beach, climbing to the top of a lookout for an amazing panoramic view or take a ride on a rowing boat into a secluded bay. Also cruise further into the bay to visit a Pearl Farm. Drop anchor in the late evening for an overnight stay among the dramatic limestone peaks rising out of the sea. Day 3 Halong Bay Cruise - Hanoi
Wake early for an optional Tai Chi class on deck. After breakfast visit the “Amazing Cave” a grotto of gigantic stalactites and stalagmites. Then enjoy a short cooking class and learn how to make a local food such as spring rolls. Cruise through the limestone cliffs and emerald waters of Halong Bay, enjoy lunch on board before disembarking and then return by bus back to Hanoi (approx. 4 hours). Day 4 Hanoi - Sapa Depart early this morning after breakfast for the mountainous market town of Sapa (approx. 5 hours) in the North West of the country. This afternoon hike through the picturesque tiered rice paddy fields to Ta Van village to learn more about the local ‘Zay’ people. Return to Sapa and discover this wonderful town at leisure. Overnight: Sunny Mountain, Sapa Meals included: Breakfast;Lunch

Day 5 Sapa
Trekking After breakfast begin the trekking journey on a visit to two villages of the H’Mong people (Catcat and SinChai). Afterwards continue onwards to a waterfall and hydroelectric power station established during the French occupation. Take in stunning landscapes of green forests and rice fields on the trek back to Sapa. Overnight: Sunny Mountain, Sapa Meals included: Breakfast;Lunch

Day 6 Sapa - Hanoi
Today is spent at leisure in Sapa before transferring back to Hanoi (approx. 5 hours) in the afternoon and being dropped off at the hotel. Overnight: Flower Garden Hotel, Hanoi Meals included: Breakfast 

Day 7 Hanoi to Hue
Today is spent at leisure in Hanoi before transferring to the train station to board an overnight train to Hue. Please note that hotel checkout will be at 12pm and luggage storage is available. The overnight train journey is an authentic experience and the most common way among locals to see the scattered small towns across northern and central Vietnam. The train takes approximately 13 hours and snacks and drinks are available to purchase onboard. As there are just snacks available, please make sure to have dinner before boarding the train! The sleeper cabins consist of 2 bunk beds for a total of 4 passengers, which means you may be sharing with other domestic or international travellers. Customer who wish to have a private cabin can purchase the extra beds in the cabin. Please note for customers who would prefer to fly, a flight option is available at an extra expense, which will include an extra night’s hotel accommodation in Hue, transfers and breakfast. Day 8 Hue City Tour
Arrive into Hue mid morning and transfer from the station to a restaurant for breakfast (not included). Afterwards take a cruise on the Perfume River to visit the historical temple of Thien Mu Pagoda and then drive to the poetic mausoleum of the Emperor Tu Duc. In the afternoon proceed to visit the Imperial Citadel and the Dong Ba Market. The spectacular Citadel (which was built in accordance to strict principles of geomancy) houses a series of palaces, ornate halls, libraries, residences and colleges. After this day tour be transferred to the hotel for an evening of leisure. Overnight: Romance Hotel, Hue Meals included: Lunch

Day 9 Hue to Hoi An
This morning head to the ancient coastal city of Hoi An (approx. 3.5 hours). Upon arrival (approx. midday) check into the hotel. The rest of the afternoon is spent at leisure to explore this amazing city. Overnight: River Beach Resort & Residences, Hoi An Meals included: Breakfast Day 10 Hoi An - My Son Tour (approx. 80km day) Depart early this morning and travel to My Son (approx. 1 hour), a UNESCO World Heritage site located 40km southwest of Hoi An. My Son was once the capital and religious centre of the Cham people and is believed to be the longest inhabited archaeological site in Indochina. The ruins of My Son were built between the 7th to 13th century BC and are located in a valley surrounded by mountains, the sides of which are covered in thick jungle. Hon Quap (Cat’s Tooth Mountain) overlooks the site, its crooked peak mimicked by the architecture of some temples’ roofs. These mountains are the source of the Thu Bon river, a holy river which flows through the site. Lunch will be included at a local restaurant and after the day’s tour of this magnificent site be transferred back to the hotel in Hoi An. Day 11 Hoi An – Da Nang - Nha Trang
Today enjoy a relaxing morning before transferring to Da Nang Airport around midday to fly onwards to the city of Nha Trang (approx. 1 hour) on the south central coast of Vietnam. Upon arrival transfer to the hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure. Overnight: Galliot Hotel, Nha Trang Meals included: Breakfast

Day 12 Nha Trang
Island Hopping Today will be spent boat hopping around the beautiful islands surrounding the coast of Nha Trang. First stop is Mun Island, known for its magnificent snorkelling, colourful coral and fish. The site has been officially protected under the support of the Danish government. Afterwards relax, swim and sunbathe on the nearby Tam Island before heading to Mieu Island to visit the Nguyen Aquarium. Return to Nha Trang in the late afternoon. Overnight: Galliot Hotel, Nha Trang Meals included: Breakfast;Lunch

Day 13 Nha Trang Free Day
Today enjoy a day at leisure to discover Nha Trang city or head to the beach to relax. Overnight: Galliot Hotel, Nha Trang Meals included: Breakfast

Day 14 Nha Trang - Ho Chi Minh (Saigon)
Enjoy a relaxing morning before transferring to Cam Ranh Airport around midday for the flight to Ho Chi Minh City (approx. 1 hour). Upon arrival check into the hotel and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. Overnight: Golden Central Hotel, Ho Chi Minh City Meals included: Breakfast

Day 15 Cu Chi Tunnels Half Day Tour
This morning be picked up from the hotel and head to the Cu Chi Tunnels (approx. 1 hour) for a half day tour. The Cu Chi Tunnels were constructed by Vietnamese fighters during the country’s long fight for independence. The network of tunnels which make up this underground city include living rooms, kitchens, hospitals, weapons factories, storage facilities and a command centre. The tunnel system was an excellent way for the Vietcong to move around the countryside undetected by foreign troops and was at one stage home to around 10,000 people. After exploring these tunnels along with nearby remains of American tanks and numerous bomb craters drive back to Ho Chi Minh City arriving in the mid afternoon. The rest of the evening will be spent at leisure. Overnight: Golden Central Hotel, Ho Chi Minh City Meals included: Breakfast

Day 16 Ho Chi Minh City - My Tho - Ben Tre
This morning after breakfast be picked up from the hotel and travel to the city of My Tho (approx. 1.5 hours) on the banks of the Mekong. Upon arrival board a motor boat and cruise along the Mekong River. The boat will take you to Xep Canal, a lovely place where you can escape the traffic of the main river. Here you will cruise under coconut trees before arriving at a small islet. Disembark and walk around a small local village. Stop at a local family’s home to enjoy tropical fruit, honey tea and wine and listen to traditional Vietnamese music performed by the villagers. Afterwards continue onwards to another islet where a traditional Vietnamese lunch will be prepared by a local family. In the afternoon return to Ho Chi Minh City for one last night. Overnight: Golden Central Hotel, Ho Chi Minh City Meals included: Breakfast;Lunch

Day 17 Ho Chi Minh City - Australia
Today is spent at leisure until the transfer to Tan Son Nhat Airport for your return flight to Australia. Please note: if your flight departs early, breakfast will be arranged for pick up from the hotel reception the night before. Meals included: Breakfast;In-Flight
